Saturday 11th April 2009
London, PR Newswire (Date) Dates and hosts have today been announced for the 2009 Laughter Fest comedy events. BBC Radio London"s Eddie Nestor and British actor Robbie Gee, from Snatch, Underworld and Pirates of the Caribbean 2, will be introducing a host of different acts on the 11th April and the 3rd October, at the Camden Centre WC1H. Comedians, solo artists, dancers, poets and bands will be taking to the stage to raise money for the LUPUS charity. The offer of a week in Barbados will also be offered as a raffle prize at the showcase events.
LUPUS is a rarely known chronic and incurable illness of the immune system, where the body’s defence mechanism begins to attack itself through an excess of antibodies in the blood stream, causing inflammation and damage in the joints, muscles and other organs. Suffers are 90% female and mainly range between the ages of 15 to 55. A cure for this debilitating disease is as yet unknown, making it difficult for both sufferers and their families to cope.
Proceeds from the comedy events will go towards assisting both the carers and sufferers of the illness.
Laughter Fest has been put together by a team of individuals who go by the name of Best of 3 Entertainment (BO3). They have come together to organise numerous events designed to bring together their community and raise money for different charities. LUPUS is the designated charity set to benefit from this Laughter Fest project.
