2009 will mark In Celebration of My Sisters 13th year and to celebrate the show will be hosted in London at the renowned Hackney Empire; with a star-studded line-up in an evening of song, dance, and comedy, the show will be the UK’s largest line-up paying homage to International Women’s Month and Mothers day.
 
This year the In Celebration of my Sisters variety show will be hosted by Brenda Emmanus (BBC, Entertainment Correspondent) and Charlene White (London Tonight). The show will feature top UK female Comedians, Felicity Ethnic, Donna Spence and Glenda Jackson, Lovers Rock sensation, Caroll Thompson. Mobo awarding winning artist, YolanDa Brown, (Female Saxophonist), R&B Artist, Fola; Gospel by Adaleine McKenzie, Inspirational Speaker Jackee Holder and Dance by the Carol Straker Dance Theatre. Male tributes on the night by Eddie Nestor and Junior Giscombe. Plus surprise guests.
 
For the second year running there will also be a lifetime achievement award presented to honor outstanding service & commitment by a female member of the community.
 
 
 The nominated charities for this year’s events are the VIP Blood Service and ACLT.
