MISS BLACK BRITAIN 2009 SPRINKLES A TOUCH OF HOLLYWOOD TO THIS YEARS SHOW!

Miss Black Britain is BACK, bigger and better than ever before.



Now in its fourth year, Miss Black Britain has succeeded in feeding the character of young, ambitious woman of colour, by showcasing the beauty and brains of black women.

So who better to host the competition than the gorgeous and talented Hollywood actress Nia Long. The charismatic award-winning film star will host the live final show, and is a perfect example of a woman who possesses equal parts of beauty and intellect, thus acting as the perfect role model to black women globally.
Nia Long became a fixture of many African-American ensemble films of the late 1990s. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 30, 1970, Long developed an interest in acting at an early age.

Long started her television career playing a character on the soap opera Guiding Light from 1991 to 1993. She earned her first helping of fame with her role on the popular sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and has since starred in Soul Food, Love Jones, The Best Man, Big Momma's House, Are We There Yet? and most recently Good Hair.

Miss Black Britain has gone from strength to strength, allowing past winners of the title to appear on BBC shows, present at the MOBO Awards, be picked for London, Paris and New York Fashion shows, meet with heads of state, represent young black women at diversification meetings and also be a spokes person on issues that affect young black and multicultural youth including Gun and Knife crime.

The Star Studded Live Final and After Show Party will take place on Saturday 14th November at the prestigious Mermaid Theatre, Blackfriars, London, and will feature exclusive performances from the some of the hottest UK talent
