Founder Pauline Long being interviewed at event launch

Founder Pauline Long has worked tirelessly within the media to ensure the awards receive the high profile platform they deserve, "To be able to honour all these personalities in entertainment, fashion, film, television and arts in one night, under one roof is a great initiative. I think an award of this calibre is due. We have so many stars in our community that the rest of the world needs to know about. We are not just going to honour A list celebrities or the top earners but most importantly we are going to honour the undiscovered great talent in the industry who are often ignored"

The award ceremony will be hosted by UK's top comedian and Choice FM radio presenter/TV personality Richard Blackwood and the young talented comedian Miss London. Among the nominees are celebrities Levi Roots, award winning comedian Kojo, award winning Jazz musician Yolanda Brown, X-Factor sensations Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, film star Noel Clarke, DJ Trevor Nelson, model Jasmia Robinson, model Ibukun Jegede, Naomi Campbell, celebrity photographer Bukola Garace, Fashion designer and entrepreneur Samata Angel, beauty queens Rachel Christie, Andelle Chileshe, fashion designers Gavin Pierre Medford, Tina Atiemo, George Dyer, Black Beauty and Hair Magazine, Pride Magazine, and more.   Notes to the Editor:

  1.  BEFFTA Awards stands for Black, Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts Awards
  2. BEFFTA Awards has been founded by Pauline Long. It is AWB Executive LTD event that aims to reward and honour personalities from the black community who are in the entertainment and showbiz.
  3. After entering the entertainment industry as founder of a beauty pageant- Mr and Miss East Africa UK, Pauline Long worked with several people in the industry including musicians, dj's, fashion designers, TV presenters and radio personalities, actors and more, throughout this journey she met many hardworking people in the industry and some of these professionals sometimes felt like giving up due to lack of support, inspiration and motivation. With three awards presented to Pauline in 2009 in 3 different ceremonies, she knows only too well how important it is to honour and give credit to people that deserve it.
  4. BEFFTA Awards stands out and is different as it's the first of its kind to honour black stars in the industries who are not just celebrities or top earners but also people who are talented but have not been recognised. BEFFTA Awards aims to give exposure to new talent as well as old without constantly highlighting on the A list celebrities alone. BEFFTA Awards is committed to giving credit where it's due.
  5. BEFFTA Awards recognises that all these personalities are somehow dependant on each others professions hence the great idea to bring them all under one roof to celebrate their achievements and network.
