Financial Wisdom:

From King Solomon (Part One)

King Solomon, the son of King David and Queen Bathsheba, is known as the richest and wisest man to ever walk the face of the earth!  He had wisdom in abundance, as well as plentiful gold and silver.  He was a righteous man who The Lord told He would endow him with riches, honour and wisdom.

The Queen of Sheba noted that everything his hands touched prospered. “And she said to the king: 'It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom. Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it; and, behold, the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me; thou exceedest the fame that I heard.” 2 Chronicles 9, 5 – 6.

Have You Scheduled Your MOT For The Year...That Is A Financial MOT?

It’s a brand New Year, and like most New Years there are a number of things that we say we are going to do, and should actually do but don’t.  One of those things generally seems to be scheduling a MOT for one’s finances.  Most people don’t get round to doing this for a number of reasons - a lack of time; lack of money - so don’t think financial planning or a financial health check-up is applicable to them;  or the lack of understanding of money and how it works - thus blocking them from confronting their financial issues and taking control of their finances.

Sooner or later, most of us buy a home, which means sooner or later, most of us will need a mortgage.
As far as borrowing goes, mortgages are considered acceptable debt: mortgage providers are a prepared to lend people money at a reasonable rate, and it is usually a far cheaper way of borrowing than almost any other form of debt, because it is secured against a property.
As with all financial products, the one thing that I cannot stress enough is the importance of shopping around for the best possible mortgage for your needs. Each borrower will have some criteria that needs satisfying, e.g. self employed, or a first time buyer.

Knowing Your ‘E’ From Your ‘I’ Could Distinctly Change Your Economic Future!!

Robert Kiyosaki, author, international speaker, and financial educator, amongst many other titles, is one my favourite financial writers.  He took an unpopular subject: Money and how it works, and broke it down for the everyday person making it more popular and easier to understand; as well as more accessible and applicable to the average person and their lives.  His books have changed people’s lives!

Rich Dad, Poor Dad, his most popular and best-selling book has sold over 17 million copies; was on the NY Times best selling list for going on seven years, and has been translated into fifty-one languages.  From that first book, seven other books have followed making up the Rich Dad series, including one called ‘Rich Dad’s CASHFLOW Quadrant.

Business Planning

Deciding to start your own business is a big step. You may have that ‘golden idea’ that will make you a millionaire overnight, but writing a solid plan that will convince banks or potential investors to put money into your idea is not always so easy.
