Exercise of the week – Tricep Dips
Tone up those bat wings with this arm sculpting exercise. Triceps are the muscles at the back of your arms, which when left neglected can become very flabby, hence the name ‘bat wings’. Strong and well toned triceps help to support and stabilise your shoulders and biceps. So, get those arms into shape and look great in that strappy dress! Use this exercise as part of your training regime.
Start - Using a flat bench, sit down and place your hands facing forwards by your sides. Your knees are bent.
Movement - Lift your bottom off of the bench, inhale and slowly lower to the ground by bending your elbows. Lift back up by straightening out the elbows and exhale.

Tips and Techniques-
- Keep your bottom close to the bench and your back straight. Don’t hunch forward. Your bottom should not touch the floor.
- Keep your elbows very close to your sides throughout the exercise.
- Focus on bending your elbows, your knees will naturally bend anyway.
- Challenge yourself - The further your feet are from the bench, the more difficult this exercise becomes. You can even go to the extreme by placing your feet on a chair or stability ball.
Note: Please consult your General Practitioner before embarking on an exercise regime.
