What are your bad habits?

Smoking? Talking too much? Always being late?  Drinking too much? Untidiness?  Procrastination?

We’ve all got them.   But the great news is that they don’t need to take over our lives if we decide to  deal with them once and for all.

Within this article are 5 simple reasons for breaking a bad habit.

Bad habits

Whether it’s a perpetual pile of clothes in the corner you’re waiting to someday turn into gold, a self-proclaimed disability which renders you unable to refrain from interrupting or, a knack for timing your exit just so, so that someone else is continually left to pick up the dishes, or foot the bill,  now’s the time to extinguish these habits before they turn into next year’s resolutions.  Why? It's not fair on others.

20 CONFIDENCE TIPS- Part 2

     1.     Whenever you feel a negative thought coming, STOP, THINK, and say is this really important in the grand scheme of things. A lot of the time it isn’t. Many people in life major in minor things!

   2.    Do you let the words of others affect you? Do you mind what they think of you? Remember that no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. It’s not what they say to you that’s the problem it’s what you say to yourself after they have stopped talking that’s the problem. Change the way you think.

3.    List the words that you use on a consistent basis when you feel let down or annoyed. People use different words to mean the same thing and depending upon the intensity of the word – this will have an effect on your confidence. Instead of saying “I’m enraged about this” say, “I’m a little annoyed”. Make a substitute list for the words that you use. Make sure they are lower in intensity and then use them. You’ll be surprised with the results.

Love & Friendship

One man's perspective

Love is often sold to us, bottled, packaged and delivered through every medium. "I love you," three words that take three seconds to say and yet a lifetime to prove.

In society today, it exists only in a commercial sense to keep producing dollars and cents.

I believe true love exists in a different realm, where two people accept each other first, then love each other second.  This isn't the love you see in Sex and the City or Bridget Jones' diary, indulging otherwise smart women with delusional and dysfunctional ideas of what constitutes love.

True love can't be criticised, it cannot simulate or fake...it just is.  True love will not demand from its recipients, moreover, it gives in abundance just for the love of it.

Say what you do and do as you say

Many people open up a conversation with the question "What do you do for a living?  It is a straightforward question which most of us should be able to answer succinctly.  However are you really doing what you say you are in all aspects of your business and career?  Running a business is not just about making money its about building a reputation based on your word; based on your level of integrity.

The same can be said for your career; you can coast and do an "OK" job but are you really doing the best you can; being the person that you professed to be in your first interview?

Going For Gold - Attaining greatness

Sporting championships like the Olympics are an exciting time for the world.  It is a time when the entire international community comes together in celebration even with the pressures of global political issues.  The Olympics themselves can also be an ideal example of how each of us as business people and professionals can attain our own greatness when we aim to improve on our 'personal best'.

Many of the athletes in London’s 2012 Olympics will have spent many years or more training for the momentous games.  They would have accomplished many milestones along the way, actively partaking in smaller competitions and yet not peaking too soon.  For many of them the Olympics is their time to shine as they put their hard-earned skills into practice. They really have their eyes on the prize.
