For Haiti Now!
On Saturday 23rd Jan 2010 I sat down to watch the Hope For Haiti Now telethon and cried like a baby…literally in floods of tears as I watched artists like Beyonce, Mary J Blidge, Madonna and Wyclef deliver heart felt performances. The endless images of the Haiti devastation left me wanting to simply do more!
I absolutely, like many of you out there, feel compelled to help in anyway I can. So over the next few months Sisterhood will be supporting and promoting a variety of different events/charities to help remind us to not give up and to continue to support the people of Haiti.
This week I urge you all to go to the www.HopeForHaitiNow.org website and give to any of the listed charities.
According to the website the Hope for Haiti Now global telethon is also available as an extraordinary digital album including performances by Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Shakira, John Legend, Mary J. Blige, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Beyonce, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson, Emeline Michel, Jay-Z, Bono, the Edge, Rihanna, Dave Matthews, Neil Young and Wyclef Jean along with a bonus track from Jay-Z, Bono, the Edge and Rihanna. You can also own the two-hour telethon video.
All proceeds from album and video sales will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme and Yele Haiti Foundation.
My grandmother use to say:
